Talk about a classic cat fight. Is Christine O'Donnell going to attend a Saturday night Tea Party sponsored rally in Iowa or not?
At varying times both Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell were either both going to attend this event or not or one would and the other wouldn't and vice versa. To wit: "Multiple reports say Palin pressured organizers of a Tea Party rally in Iowa to rescind an invitation for O'Donnell to attend on the threat of Palin canceling. It was just yesterday that we reported that O'Donnell requested to attend the Saturday rally at which people are speculating that her former mentor will announce whether she will run for president. But Palin apparently didn't want O'Donnell anywhere near the rally and threatened not to attend. "Sarah Palin Gets Christine O'Donnell Uninvited to Tea Party Rally"; http://www.opposingviews.com/i...
Now one can only wonder why Ms. Palin is so concerned about Ms. O'Donnell's speaking at the same event let alone even being allowed to attend. It was Palin after all whose endorsement put Christine O'Donnell on the path to a Senate run and inglorious defeat in 2010. So why is Palin now dissing her former protégé? Perhaps its because Palin herself needs all the help she can get if she is to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate in 2012 and that O'Donnell with all of her wacky baggage in tow would just be one more obstacle in a race that would be a virtual obstacle course anyway. Perhaps it is the realization that Christine O'Donnell is just such a distraction that her appearing at a rally where Palin might be about to announce her bid for the presidency just creates the type of distraction that would detract too much from Sarah Palin herself.
Hey, you can't make this stuff up and I'm just calling them like I see them. There's no denying the fact that this sort of kerfuffle certainly adds a circus like atmosphere to the event and as such it's at least good for a laugh.
